Tom Brady defended his daughter during Super Bowl Opening Night.
”I sure hope he doesn’t get fired over this” Tom Brady after the fact…
For the second time in one day, the New England Patriots quarterback addressed the disparaging comments from WEEI host Alex Reimer, who called Vivian Brady “an annoying little pissant” on live radio while he was discussing Brady’s documentary, “Tom vs. Time.”
“You know, I just felt it was inappropriate. I don’t want to get into it too much,” Brady said Monday with a mob of reporters surrounding him. “I think any 5-year-old is off limits at the end of the day. I think everyone would feel the same way about their kids. … I think everyone’s protective of their children.”
Vivian makes an appearance in the opening scene of the first episode of the docu-series. She was yelling at her father about how excited she was for a sleepover. Reimer’s criticisms stemmed from, in his opinion, that contrived opening scene for Brady’s documentary.
Reimer has been suspended indefinitely for his comments. Brady cut off his weekly radio hit with WEEI early on Monday morning, and said he was going to reevaluate whether he wants to continue doing the radio hit in the future. He did not, however, want Reimer to get fired.
“We all have careers and make mistakes,” Brady said. “I’d hate for someone to have to change their life over something like that. That was certainly not what he intended.”
